Teil 1

What's the craziest thing that has ever happened to you on stage?

Bill: I had a little mistake on one song called Don't Jump. But that's a long time ago and it was because of the in-ear monitoring, so it was not because of me, it was a technical thing...

Tom: And you switched some things right?

Bill: And yeah, that's always stupid, but it just happened once, so...

Tom: Well I think he said, in [city] he said "Hey Marseilles" or something?

Bill: I can't remember the city but it's because you are every day in a different city and so... but it just happened once!

Tom: And we have to say Bill has not the biggest brain. So... you know, it happened just once and I think that's awesome for that brain, it's great.

Bill: Thank you.

Georg: And he switched the day on Easter, you said...

Tom: Hey, merry Christmas! And I think you had an accident with your microphone, right?

Bill: Can't remember.

Tom: I can remember with your microphone and you know, with your teeth.

Georg: ...hit yourself.

Bill: My teeth are perfect.

Tom: Yeah, now they are fake.

Bill: Oh you think so?

Georg: After the surgery.

Tom: After the surgery but it's good now.

Bill: Thank you.

You'll kick off your tour at the end of February. How did you come up with the name for it? And what exactly does this HUMANOID City mean?

Bill: The tour's called "Welcome to Humanoid City". I think it's because we have a Humanoid City with us. So we've built our own city really so the whole stage is like a futuristic... like a humanoid city. And it's built in London. I think it's gonna be great.

Where will the tour take you this time?

Bill: We travel all over Europe. We play I think in Italy, Russia, Poland, Germany of course. Everywhere. All over Europe.

How important for you is good food on tour and who prepares it? Do you take your moms along with you?

Tom: Oh no, we have a perfect catering company and like a tour mother. It's Jutta and she's cooking for us the whole day. Our favourite dishes, you know...

Bill: And it's vegetarian of course, everything is vegetarian. And the whole crew...

Tom: Right, it's a vegetarian tour right?

Bill: Just vegetarian.... Maybe sometimes some fish sometimes for Georg and Gustav but yeah. It's vegetarian.

Gustav: I'll bring my own steak with me.

Bill: Okay.

How do you stay fit and healthy?

Bill: We sleep the whole day and I think that's the most important thing, to get enough sleep and just relax and for the off days, sometimes, you wanted to work out, Georg?

Georg: Yeah maybe.

Bill: Maybe, a little bit? I think on the off days you know, just go in the gym and do something but most of the time, we are lazy...

Tom: We have our dogs with us, so I think it's enough to just play with the dogs for me.

Bill and Tom - you guys love your dogs insanely. So the dogs come along with you?

Bill: We take two dogs with us, the big ones. And I think that's gonna be fun. We have an extra room in every venue for the show when we are onstage.

Tom: I think we have enough space on our tour bus, so we are just two... and two dogs. Two persons, two dogs.
2 Personen, 2 Hunde.

Bill: It will be too hard to be without the dogs for two months.

I heard you guys like to party after your shows in Russia. What city will you party in this time and how?

Tom: Partying.

Bill: I mean Moscow would be nice for a party but I think on tour we are just very serious and we just take care of ourselves, and the schedule is very very tight and I think the best would be if we just stay in our tour bus and have a little party there.

Tom: I think in some cities we'll go and party.

Bill: Let's see. Let's see in happens. But I think in Moscow would be great.

Are there certain cities that your are specifically looking forward to or which you connect special memories with?

Bill: I think for us it's always great to play in Germany of course, in Hamburg, our whole families are there so I think that's a cool city.

Tom: But the whole routing is great, I mean we have a lot of cities and all and I think we had great experiences in all those cities so...

Bill: And some cities are new. So some cities we've never played in some cities, so...

Tom/Bill: Just a couple.

Georg, two long months without your girlfriend on tour... or will she join you?

Georg: Yeah, that will be hard for me but I think we will phone everyday. And maybe she will come with... on my birthday but we are not sure so far.

Tom: But Georg asked me for the tour if I can give him some other phone numbers of other girls. I think we can handle that.

What can your fans expect, which songs will you perform?
Was können Eure Fans erwarten, welche Songs werdet Ihr spielen?

Bill: We'll play almost every song from our Humanoid record, so a lot of new stuff. We also have some of our favourite old tracks and some new arrangements so I think there are some surprises in the set but it's full of power. I think it's the most powerful show we've ever done so far.

Tom: It's a great new sound. Which old song's your favourite one?
Es ist ein großartiger neuer Sound.

Bill: Monsoon.

Bill: We have a German set list and we have an English one but we mix everything so some songs are just in German and some songs are just in English.

Are there certain songs that you're looking forward to performing LIVE the most?

Bill: I think for me I always like Dogs Unleashed and I think it's also a great live track and we have a special thing going on onstage for that song so...

Tom: I love the opening song. I love Noise, that will be the opening song.

Bill: And in the middle of the show we have like a little special thing.

Tom: That's also great.
Das ist auch grossartig.

Bill: That's great, yeah.
Es ist großartig, ja.

Gustav: Yeah, Noise. First song. It's great.
Ja, NOISE. Der erste Song. Er ist großartig.

Tom: The favourite song of Georg is Schönes Madchen aus dem All but we don't play that song on the tour.

Instrument wise, your Humanoid album is a lot more versatile and electronic in comparison to your past albums. Will you use different instruments on stage than we're use to from you?

Bill: Yes!

Tom: I play piano. Georg is playing keyboard.
Ich spiele Klavier. Georg spielt Keyboard.

Bill: "Playing" keyboard. You know, it's not very good but you can say he's plays it.
"Playing" keyboard.

Georg: Okay then...
Okay also....

Tom: For Bill, it's enough.
Für Bill reicht das.

Bill: Okay then what? Huh?
Okay also was??? HUH?

Tom: So I'm gonna play keyboard, the piano and guitar, and also we do the back vocals for the whole tour.

Georg: We have the hardest job.
Wir haben den härtesten Job!

Tom: We should earn more money than Bill.

Bill: Ridiculous!
Lächerlich!

Does it scare you to play piano on stage? It's totally different in comparison to rocking out on the guitar.

Bill: He is so nervous!
Er ist so nervös!

Tom: I'm a...
Ich bin ein....

Bill: A bit! He is so nervous he can't sleep.

Tom: I am the most talented guy from the band and I can do that.

Bill: Let's see.
Wir werden sehen!

How did the rehearsals go? Did you practice a lot or is there a "rotten apple" amongst you?

Bill: Georg is very lazy when it comes to rehearsals. But I mean for...

Georg: I don't need to rehearse for this tour so...

Bill: Yeah, but we had a lot of rehearsals so I think we are good prepared for the whole tour.

You already had some extraordinary stage set-ups. What did you come up with this time?

Bill: I think it's the biggest Tokio Hotel production ever. We have 11 trucks nearly, and we have 50 crew members and we have pyro and special effects and every morning the stage is built in two different parts of the venue so...

Tom: It's the first time that we really have our own stage. It's completely our own stage so nothing in the venue.

Bill: Nothing is rent, we bring everything with us. And there are some special things they built for us and for this tour. And I think it's a great light show and a lot of movements.

Tom: On the stage.

Bill: Yeah.

Teil 2

Bill, what's up with the huge metal ball structure on stage? Can you reveal this secret?

Bill: This time we have a special drum riser for Gustav. It's of a kind riser so I'm a bit jealous because I think it's the best position onstage for Gustav this time. I can't wait to see it, I think it's gonna be great.

Tom: We call it Tom's Egg.

Georg: No, we call it Tom's left egg.

Tom: Tom's left egg, right. That's the nickname for that drum riser.

Performing on such a massive stage must feel quite exciting. Are you scared something might go wrong?

Bill: Tom is playing the piano so we'll have some mistakes in every show with that. And Georg is playing keyboard, I mean...

Tom: No but to be honest, it's really hard to switch the instruments during the song so I have to play guitar and switch the sounds and in the next second I have to play keyboard and everything so I have the hardest job on the whole tour.

Bill: No, I mean it's... honestly it's really hard for Tom because he's changing the guitar everytime and the effect board and he has to sing, he has to play the piano, so a lot of things, and it's hard to move for Tom and to use the whole stage so we have a special clue for the background things and you can see that.

Tom: Well I have the hardest job and the guys thank me...

Bill: It's not hard, he just... it' just...

Georg/Bill: For him it's hard.

Tom: No, the guys thank me the whole day that I can handle that. I'm Superman.

Bill, did you come up with some extraordinary outfits for this tour?

Tom: You can see we are now in our outfits for the tour and it looks great. I mean especially Gustav is wearing really special stuff.

Bill: I mean, Gustav's outfit is so crazy, I just saw the draws, it's just over the top.

Bill/Tom: Awesome!

Gustav: Under the radar, over the top.

Bill: Yes. No, Tom and me we were in Milan when we talked to Dan and Dean from DSquared and we saw the first draws of the whole tour and stage customs so it's gonna be really really cool, so we really appreciate it and it's great that they said "Okay, we'll do the stage outfits" and I think it's really special and so you've got one first look at the DSquared show I did and it's kind of really futuristic and sci-fi everything and the whole stage and all these custom outfits.

Tom: And I think for the outfits we have like three weeks left. And Dan and Dean now need to hurry up.

Tom, you seem to get more into fashion...?

Tom: No not that much. I just like nice clothes and I can wear everything so I look beautiful anyway.

Is Tom allowed to bring groupies on the tour bus?

Tom: No not on the tour bus but it's allowed in hotels. And Georg also needs some girls on the tour. As I said. But we need to do that in the...

Bill: Maybe you can share one bus.

Tom: Georg and me? I can send the girl to the next door, to Georg.

Georg: I can test them for you.

Tom: No. I have them first and I pay them some money, I think about 2000 euros, not more. And then they go to you and, not sex, but maybe you can kiss her.

Bill: Her lips. Downstairs.

You'll be touring Europe for almost a quarter of a year. Does it bother you being away from home for such a long time?

Bill: It feels like we move into our tour bus with everything. So we take our whole home with us and we have everything, candles and we have our own lights and our own bed and everything so we take everything in the bus because it's I think for more than two months and it's a long time but I think we are prepared. We have two band buses and we have like real rooms on the bus, it's not only a bed and we have a lot of DVDs and movies and sex toys...

Tom: Dildo for Georg... And that's a big one... So we need space.

If you could only bring three items on the tour bus, what would they be?

Bill: For me it would be one of my dogs and... one bag with everything I need... and then... maybe... my laptop... Yeah.

Gustav: I say I would have three bags with all the things i need.

Georg: I would pick...

Tom: The big dildo.

Georg: ... my girlfriend

Tom: The big dildo.

Georg: ... my new dog.

Bill: For the girlfriend, your girlfriend is a thing for you.

Georg: What? It's a thing?

Bill: It's a thing for you?

Georg: She's the only thing for me... and maybe my DVD collection.

Tom: That's not one thing. Your DVD collection is like 100 DVDs... It's stupid.

Georg: A DVD box.

Tom: I would take... one guitar, one dog... and... my laptop. That was the first good answer.

All: See you/Love you!
